Dating Safety Standards

Overview

Coupler is an incredible way for couples to meet new friends. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service and user-friendly experience. With this in mind, we need your help to ensure that our community is kept safe. Below are some of the guidelines we encourage all of our users to consider, but are not a replacement for your best judgement.

Security

Coupler employees will never ask for any personally identifying information. Never give out any personally identifying information to anyone on this app, whether that be bank account information, social security numbers, or any other highly sensitive information. If someone is asking for this information, report it immediately to customer service.

Bots and Other Malicious Accounts

Any accounts that try to refer you to another website are usually bots designed to drive traffic to another website. If you experience an account that sounds fake, or tries to refer you to another website, please report and unmatch the couple.

Finances

Never send money through the app. Scammers may try to get you to send money prior to meeting up. If anyone asks for money through the messaging service, please report and unmatch the couple. You can find additional information on avoiding scammers .

Meeting Up

While we are confident that users are good intentioned, always use common sense. If there is a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable, don’t be afraid to reach out for help. We encourage picking a public place for a first meetup. Try to avoid going to another couple’s home or any other private location for a first date. It is always smart to be responsible for your own transportation, and to make sure others know of your plans. If you find yourself in a potentially dangerous situation, call the police.

Alcohol

We get it. A lot of people like to go out on the town and get a few drinks. We are not saying don’t do this. We just want to promote responsible behavior. Alcohol can lead to poor decision making and can lead to unintended events. Be smart!

We hope this helps keeps everyone involved safe. Always remember, don’t be forced into a situation. Be honest with the other people about concerns. They will understand!
